Staybridge Suites Newcastle, An Ihg Hotel

I generally very much liked the place and enjoyed the stay. The room is very clean and actually equipped as a b&b w full kitchen and all. The staff and service were superb. Really nice on personal level - kind and informative. In the reception, room service and kitchen. The location is fine, but not too central, the advantage being that is quieter. I thought breakfast & happy hour were fine, but considerately less options for vegetarians and vegans. Which is generally to say less healthy foods as fresh fruits and vegetables. They write me that it's a chain policy. The rooms are nice, romantic

We have stayed three years running during the Christmas holidays, mainly because you can get dog friendly rooms. The staff are generally fantastic with dogs, and I mean fantastic! I would give 5 stars, but this time, we were not allowed to sit in the eating area with our dog. It has never been a problem before (even the day before). He is tethered close to us and can't disturb anyone else, but even being in the open (seated) area by the door, we were told to move (being informed that the room contract states that dogs are not allowed in the area). WE were fortunate enough to get the low table in the reception area, but had to eat off our knees. Given they are so dog friendly, I do not understand this. There are plenty of restaurants that allow dogs, so it is certainly not a health and safety issue, more so, a choice of the hotel. NB I have never seen a dog in the area in which the food is served (self service). The downside of being dog friendly, you don't know how well behaved the 'guests' are going to be. For the second year, there was a yappy dog over the hall, but at least it wasn't heard late at night, like last year!

I had an incredible experience at Staybridge Suites in Newcastle. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and had a welcoming ambiance. The amenities, from the well-equipped kitchenette to the comfortable bedding, exceeded my expectations. The hotel's central location made it convenient to explore Newcastle, and the complimentary breakfast was a delightful start to each day.
